We live in challenging times – I think this goes without saying.
So many issues face our nation and it can be overwhelming. Regardless of your political inclination – I hope you’ll read my previous post for my thoughts on this – we all need to roll up our sleeves and get to work to make things work.
Whether it’s an issue of national proportion or something you’ve been struggling with at work or at home, I found the following words spoken by President Obama this evening (in the context of the health care issues) to be very applicable.
We did not come to fear the future. We came here to shape it. I still believe we can act even when it’s hard. I still believe we can replace acrimony with civility and gridlock with progress. I still believe we can do great things and that here and now we will meet history’s test, because that’s who we are. That is our calling. That is our character.
Are you fearing your future? Don’t because when all is said and done: hope is stronger than fear (first spoken by Wilfred Laurier)!
